Kenna Allison

Kenna Allison is a 20 year old artist residing in Southwestern Montana, right between the geysers and glaciers. As an artist, she currently focuses within the ranges of photography, writing, and fashion, while also merging her passion for nature and sustainable living. As co-owner of Krowned Clothing, Kenna and her boyfriend Kal make handmade fashion in small batches,  with a mission to reduce the waste associated with the fashion industry. They follow this lead throughout all of their business practices and include the use of organic or sustainable fabrics whenever possible.

Here at Guayaki, Kenna creates lifestyle photos taken on her many adventures around Montana. She also curates unique recipe and DIY projects centered around reusing Guayaki packaging materials, such as tin and glass. As an avid plant enthusiast and herbalist, Kenna handcrafts her DIY recipes by harvesting herbs from her garden or by sustainably gathering wild plants in the forests of Montana.

In her free time you can find Kenna exploring in the mountains, hanging out with her adventure cat Kouteh, and sipping on a Bluephoria.

Winter Yerba Mate Blend + Gift Giving DIY

  1. First start by preparing the oranges: Preheat your oven to 250 degrees fahrenheit. Slice your orange into thin slices and place on oven racks carefully. Set a timer for 2-3 hours and make sure to turn the oranges several times.
  2. Once the oranges are done, use your hands to rip them up into small pieces.
  3. Combine orange pieces, yerba mate, cloves, cinnamon, and rose hips into a large bowl and stir until ingredients are evenly mixed.
  4. Using a large funnel, carefully pour your mate blend into a storage container of choice- reuse a glass Guayaki tereré bottle, they make the perfect container to give as a gift. I attached a bombilla with twine around mine to create a perfect small waste-free gift set. Label container with date, ingredients, and instructions if giving as a gift.
  5. To make a cup of your winter mate blend: Add 2 teaspoons to a gourd or 8oz mug of choice, pour a small amount of cold water, add bombilla, pour hot water, + come to life all winter long!
