Mint's dark green leaves have a pleasant warm, fresh, aromatic, sweet flavor with a cool aftertaste. Historically, mint tea was used to relieve stomach aches and soothe chest pains. During the middle ages, powdered mint leaves were used to whiten teeth. Mint leaves are used in teas, beverages, jellies, syrups, and ice creams. The refreshing essential oils from the mint plant are commonly used in breath fresheners, mouth rinses, and toothpaste. In Mid-Eastern and British cuisines mint sauce is popular with meats.

Mint consists of 25-30 different species of flowering plants and is a perennial herb. The most common mints used are peppermint and spearmint. The mint family (Lamiaceae) also includes other aromatic herbs such as: basil, rosemary, sage, oregano and catnip.

My first

Had my first yerba mate this weekend from a new friend - he started me with mint. I began drinking tea two years ago and like new flavors. I loved the mint yerba mate! I also like the business model - private property put to good use supports local economy, preserves rain forest and creates wealth. Now online ordering a bunch of it. Need to go to Argentina soon!

Refreshing! Absolutely Delicious

I enjoy drinking traditional mate and found this blend in my organic food store. I thought I would give it a try and was extremely pleased! This blend is minty and refreshing! I can imagine it would also be good cold. I recommend this to anyone that wants a break from the traditional mate flavor.

Refreshing!

This tea is so refreshing. It has a distinct yet not overpowering mint flavor. It has a slightly sweet flavor so it's good plain or with added sweetener. It is good hot or cold. I highly recommend this tea to everyone!

This is main tea I use for Iced bottles of Work Out bottles. I enjoy being able to make a number of servings from 1 or 2 bags. Yerba Mate is excellent!

Excellent

I've never been a herb tea fan. Prefer very strong coffee for the flavor. However, since trying the Yerba Mate drinks I've felt so much better, that I'm enjoying this new season of my life with so many wonderful flavor experiences. Empower Mint is excellent in its refreshing palette. Hot or over ice it is one of my new tea favorites.

Tasty

I love the yerba mate with mint as my breakfast drink (coffee substitute). It is very tasty with the mint. When I am done I fill my mug with water and it takes a little bit of the minty tea taste ~ Delicious.

Bulk tea bags are best!

In an effort to not pay shipping, I decided to order a box of the mint and orange along with the bulk bags of both flavors (I use one of each - LOVE the combo!). I was surprised at how much better (stronger) the tea from the bulk bags taste over the tea from the boxes! It was so different that I will only order the bulk bags, even if I have to pay shipping.

Not So Very Caffeined, So Very Natural

I love the flavor of the organic Pure Empower Mint by Guayaki. In addition, since I have worked aggressively to cut caffeine out of my life, I was very pleased to see the Caffeine Meter indicating a low level of "naturally caffeinated" content. I have other Yerba Mate-like products in my cupboard from Guayaki and they are all great and delicious tea time favorites.
