Ricardo Ferreyra hand-crafts an elegant circle spoon bombilla widely popular in South America, but Ricardo's are unique because they are 100% handmade from his small farm outside Buenos Aires, Argentina.

In thirty days work, Ricardo can create 100 circle spoon bombillas from stainless steel. This partnership with Guayakí is ideal because it allows Ricardo to earn a Fair Trade salary, and it allows him to work close to his family at home instead of in a factory where other bombillas are typically mass produced in South America.

Better than most Bombillas... but I'm still searching for the best

The build-quality of this bombilla is top notch. It is heavy, sturdy and has a fantastic look to it. Its better than most bombillas, but it still does not filter very well (like 99% of all others to). I think this bombilla is built well enough to last a lifetime or two. A TIP for every bombilla: If you get alot of bits and pieces of yerba mate through any bombilla, the best thing to do is to partially fill the yerba mate in the gourd with cold water and let it absorb for about 5-10 minutes. This will lower the amount of particles entering the bombilla. OVERALL: The build quality alone justifies the price of the bombilla. If you want a heavy duty bombilla this is the one for you. I could not think of a better bombilla to recomend to a newcomer. Build Quality: 6/5 Filtering: 3/5 Looks: 5/5 Worth the price: 5/5 Overall: 4/5

Pretty good.

Pricey. Quality is good as well as design, but I don't think it exactly warrants the 20.00 price tag. The filtering capacity is about 96%..Some yerba does seep through time to time. I am satisfied, but I feel it is pricey. I think 12.00 would be fair.
