These bombilla's measure roughly six and a half inches long, and are constructed from 100% naturally harvested bamboo. "Guayaki" is carved and burned into the side of it. Bamboo forms a very hard wood, and is light and exceptionally tough. Bamboo bombillas wont last as long as a metal one, but can last for months or years if taken care of properly. Be sure to let your Bamboo Bombilla dry out COMPLETELY after use. Do not use boiling water with them either, as you should not use boiling water with yerba mate anyway.
I have a steel bombilla at home that I like quite a bit, but I wanted to have a wooden one also. However, this bamboo bombilla is incredibly thin. The diameter of the hollow space is about 3 millimeters in diameter, and the bombilla itself is thinner than a pencil. It still works, but it requires a lot of force to suck the water up. My teeth hurt from sucking just from using it once. I decided to purchase another wooden bombilla from EcoTeas, and it's really thick and not at all hard to suck up water with. The EcoTeas one has a hollow space of about 5-6 millimeters in diameter, and is thicker than a pencil. However, it's worth mentioning that the Guayaki customer service was really helpful, and they offered to give me a steel bombilla for free because of my dissatisfaction. The design is quite nice also, and it's possible that my teeth are just more sensitive than most. The extra millimeter or two made the difference for me, but might be insignificant for you. That's why I gave it a 3 out of 5.

Nice bamboo straws but rather small diameter compared to my last one. Recieved them in quick order and good condition.

but I still get too many leaves. Bought the French press and will continue to use that, instead.

Love the bamboo. I drink my tea outside in the sun sometimes and I thought the other bombillas might get hot. The bamboo one is perfect.

I really like the feel of the bamboo bombilla- nice texture and it doesn't get too hot on the lips if you are drinking hot liquid. However, I find that it sometimes get clogged if you are drinking loose leaf mate
I really love these Straws. Not only are they good for the environment by reducing waste production, but you get that "feel good feeling" that someone actually made this by hand! I prefer the bombillas from Guayaki compared to others because the smallest diameter can fit on the mouth part of my lid for my travel Mug!
I have not actually used the product yet but the buying experience thru the website was wonderful. I actually called customer service and they did an outstanding job helping me change my order. Thanks.
the bamboo bombilla has holes that are too small on it. it always plugged up and when its not you have to suck extemely hard to get a liqued into it. the metal bombilla that came with my gourd kit works ok though, so i wouldn't recomend getting the bamboo bombilla if you would like to enjoy your drink.
