We have videos of how to prepare mate!
To watch the videos - click the icons below.
Place yerba mate in the French press. Add hot water and steep for 3-10 minutes. We recommend using 1-2 tbsp of loose mate per cup. First, moisten the mate with cool water to protect the nutrients and flavor, then ADD HOT (NOT BOILING) WATER.
Place yerba mate in filter basket, then brew. We recommend using 1-2 tbsp of loose mate per cup. First, moisten the mate with cool water to protect the nutrients and flavor, then run the machine as usual.
Yerba mate brews well in most espresso makers. Place 1-2 tbsp of loose mate in a double espresso portafilter. Pull a long shot for a total of 4 oz. Great for making mate lattés.
Mate Latte Recipe:
Brew an 8 oz. cup of Guayakí Yerba Mate. Add sweetener (sugar, honey, or maple syrup) to taste and 4 oz. of steamed milk of choice. Top off with milk foam. Makes a 12 oz. latté.
Yerba mate is traditionally prepared in a gourd and shared among a circle of friends. Welcome the moments of community born of your own mate circle.

Great value for the price! Also perfect Mate in very convienent packaging.
I have been drinking this tea for 15 years... and I am definitely hooked! I am so happy I found this product!
We brew up a French press full of mate every morning. It's a GREAT way to start the day! We like the Traditional mate, and appreciate the economy of buying the loose leaf tea.

Sweeten with honey you have the best tea in the world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My two 5lb. bags are always speedily delivered without a hitch. The quality, consistency and flavor are important to me and Guayaki' has never disappointed. If you haven't ordered in the larger quantities you miss out on a meaningful discount and free delivery. Most importantly, the taste is truly the best I've ever tried and I live in a town where there are something on the order of fifteen or twenty popular brands available. Yummie.
We have totally switched our home from coffee to Yerba Mate and love it!
When we have run out of tea and drink coffee again we can really tell the difference in our energy levels through out the day! With the tea our energy is more stable and doesn't seem to spike and then leave us feeling terrible!
Thank you for providing a quality drink!
Makes my day and gives back! Love it!
Hi, I love yerbe mate, but I drink it like a girl. haha. I have figured out the ratio of stevia/tea/ 150 degree water that I can't live without. You all would probably think it's too sweet the way I like it. But I buy it by the 5 pound pkgs. so I never run out! Thanks for bringing this gift to the world.
I've been drinking Guayaki's yerba mate for several years now. Even though I like some of the new blends, I always default back to ordering the traditional loose-leaf mate- 5 lbs bag. I make 6-8 cups at a time in my coffee pot- just put it in the pot and let it steep, then pour through a strainer. Thanks Guayaki
