We have videos of how to prepare mate!

Place yerba mate in the French press. Add hot water and steep for 3-10 minutes. We recommend using 1-2 tbsp of loose mate per cup. First, moisten the mate with cool water to protect the nutrients and flavor, then ADD HOT (NOT BOILING) WATER.
Place yerba mate in filter basket, then brew. We recommend using 1-2 tbsp of loose mate per cup. First, moisten the mate with cool water to protect the nutrients and flavor, then run the machine as usual.
Yerba mate brews well in most espresso makers. Place 1-2 tbsp of loose mate in a double espresso portafilter. Pull a long shot for a total of 4 oz. Great for making mate lattés.
Mate Latte Recipe:
Brew an 8 oz. cup of Guayakí Yerba Mate. Add sweetener (sugar, honey, or maple syrup) to taste and 4 oz. of steamed milk of choice. Top off with milk foam. Makes a 12 oz. latté.
Yerba mate is traditionally prepared in a gourd and shared among a circle of friends. Welcome the moments of community born of your own mate circle.
We love our morning cup of Guayaki Yerba Mate, and the organic/biodynamic aspect of it is very important to us, as is the way it is fairly and sustainably harvested. Thanks, and we loved the extra commemorative tin as an exquisite bonus!

Really wonderful and very fast delivery.
I have made several 25 pound purchases over the years from Guayaki. Needless to say I am a huge fan. I started drinking Yerba Mate about 14 years ago when I came across it at Good Earth market in Fairfax CA. I am probably one of the first devotees of this company. Nothing but high praise for their products and service. I love, love, love Guayaki Yerba Mate.
I have been ordering traditional yerba mate from Guayaki for many years. It's what I have every single day for my morning wake-up call. I love it the best of all of them, and Guayaki possesses the special flavor I also like best. I will be a repeat customer forever. Please don't change it!
I have trouble drinking other teas since I found Guayaki. My favorite is the traditional Yerba Mate.
Guayaki has some of the best loose leaf yerba mate. Great flavor! It's kept me coming back for years. It's so easy and affordable to order online, and by being a member they'll send you discounts. Big fan!!
I have been buying Guayaki since 2008 and LOVE the quality and taste. It's the perfect combination of fine powder cut which gives the kick and depth, with larger cut which smoothes it out and gives a grassy note. I always make my yerba mate in a french press. I pour cold water on the mate first, just enough to saturate it, and let it sit for 2-3min before pouring 180degree water to fill up the entire french press. This ensures the perfect taste and no bitterness! Guayaki is a responsbile, sustainable company with a great product. The 5lb bag is the best value. Go for it!
I make 1/2 gallon of iced Yerba Mate batches to drink at work. The loose leaf option gives me the opportunity to adjust the strength of the brew. I will take this over coffee any day.
I first started drinking Guayaki in 1997 when it first hit Bend, Oregon at a natural food store. I must say that the flavor was a bit rough to get use to. I stopped for a while and then tried it again and I can say now, muy bueno. I picked up my gourd and bombilla and am enjoying it. I have also tried the San Mateo variety and find it a good alternative.
