Traditional Yerba Mate - [5 lb.]

I've tried all the others, but nothing has a better flavor than GUAYAKI Traditional Yerba Mate. And the mental clarity is subtle but REAL, something you can depend on. No matter how I feel in the morning, I always feel better after a few cups to start the day. Thank you for keeping up the the high quality of this excellent product - and for your commitment to sustainable and fair standards.

This tea is my morning ritual - period. I enjoy it on many levels from preparation to consumption. It really is spectacular. The packaging for the 5lb bag however, is a bit...wonky. The bio-degradable material is susceptible to ripping and tearing in unexpected ways making it really unusable as a daily container. When I get a new bag, I typically empty it out into a large air-tight container, and in turn use that container to grab the tea for preparation. The last bag I got also had very weak seams - which were already split when I took the bag out from the shipping box. If it weren't for the bag, I would have given this product 5 stars.

This was the only tea I have found that could replace my morning coffee. After trying about 20 different teas this was the one that gave me the same wonderful wake-up feeling. Better yet, I did not have the negative effects that I got from coffee. It picks you up without any jitters. I brew this in a drip coffee maker with a single bag of Magical Mint Mate and add a little raw honey for my perfect way to start my day. This morning brew is delicious. I have been drinking this now for about 6 years and I don't miss my morning coffee ever.

Over the years I've consumed various mate brands. Guayaki has a great selection. The company ethic is stellar and I happily pay a bit more to support it. This is one of those companies, like Patagonia, that is trying to do business headed in a sustainable direction. Keep up the good work.

A Mainer, I've been having bulk mate shipped to me for eleven years now! (I was the first tea buyer in Maine to carry Guayaki, at the health food store where I worked, before it had the distribution it has now. It's amazes me that Guayaki, while growing and growing as a company, is still constantly striving to create an ecologically, socially responsible product. The new biodegradable bags are too cool!

I'm very happy as always with my tea, the dispatch and delivery time was as expected and on time, however i was very surprised and a little disappointed that i was charged a further £32/$57 for customs charges before being delivered. I would have been very grateful if my parcel was marked as a gift, on this occasion it was not & would be happier knowing that for any future orders that this would be implemented. Kind regards

I start every day with a french press of yerba mate from Guayaki. I look forward to it before I even get out of bed! It gives me the perfect jump start to my day without ever feeling jittery or giving me the upset stomach that coffee does. I've tried lots of brands and truly feel that Guayaki is the best!

I appreciate that the big sticks may have been inconvenient for some but I liked the coarse-ness of the mate before. The extra grinding, or whatever, has made the leaf a little too fine. But I love it anyway...I'm jes' sayin'.

I've been drinking traditional yerba mate for 10 years mas o menos. I've occassionally tried other brands, but I like Guayaki's smoked flavor. Since this is my daily morning beverage, I love that it comes in 5 lb size. And I love that Guayaki perfected the biodegradeable, compostable package! It wasn't so convenient at first, but Guayaki kept at it, and pretty quickly it was fabulous!

Like you say, Yerba Mate gives me the energy boost of coffee, more antioxidants than green tea and the euphoria of chocolate! Helps my thinking, puts me in a good mood. I can't imagine a day without it! Love, love, love your Yerba Mate!
