TO EXPERIENCE THE FULL HEALTH BENEFITS OF YERBA MATE DAILY, WE RECOMMEND STEEPING 1-2 TABLESPOONS.
The uplifting and nourishing choice of health-minded individuals, yerba mate boasts 24 vitamins and minerals, 15 amino acids and abundant antioxidants. Yerba mate is also known for its adaptogen-like qualities, which include reducing the effects of occasional stress.
Of the six commonly used stimulants in the world, yerba mate, coffee, tea, kola nut, cocoa and guarana, yerba mate, with naturally occurring caffeine, triumphs as the most balanced, delivering both energy and nutrition.
We have videos of how to prepare mate!
To watch the videos - click the icons below.
Place yerba mate in the French press. Add hot water and steep for 3-10 minutes. We recommend using 1-2 tbsp of loose mate per cup. First, moisten the mate with cool water to protect the nutrients and flavor, then ADD HOT (NOT BOILING) WATER.
Place yerba mate in filter basket, then brew. We recommend using 1-2 tbsp of loose mate per cup. First, moisten the mate with cool water to protect the nutrients and flavor, then run the machine as usual.
Yerba mate brews well in most espresso makers. Place 1-2 tbsp of loose mate in a double espresso portafilter. Pull a long shot for a total of 4 oz. Great for making mate lattés.
Mate Latte Recipe:
Brew an 8 oz. cup of Guayakí Yerba Mate. Add sweetener (sugar, honey, or maple syrup) to taste and 4 oz. of steamed milk of choice. Top off with milk foam. Makes a 12 oz. latté.
Yerba mate is traditionally prepared in a gourd and shared among a circle of friends. Welcome the moments of community born of your own mate circle.
Thanks for being consistently great!

We recently decided to just go for it and buy 5 five pound bags at one time! After all, we drink it every morning!

The Organic Traditional loose leaf is the smoothest, deepest yerba mate I've ever experienced, and I've purchased many brands. Bonus: if I prepare a mate at the onset of a migraine it disappears within fifteen minutes and it can't be just the cafeine because coffee doesn't produce the same result.
For a couple of years I've been ordering two 5lb. bags at a time. Crunch the numbers and you'll find a great savings. As a matter of fact I might look into buying an even greater bulk order.
One of the few products I can count on to be great each and every time -- that's something unique !
As usual, my 5# traditional Mate arrived safe and intact and earlier than expected. Nothing but kudos!
My family and I love your traditional yerba mate. We drink it everyday for health and energy. We rave about yerba mate and remind others to purchase organic yerba mate, especially from Guayaki.
Thank you for selling such an awesome product. We are happy to have discovered such a wonderful drink.
I was so thrilled to receive my new bag of traditional yerba mate...i have been drinking this daily for a couple of years now. Usually, I don't add any sweetner but now I add a lemon slice and one packet of truvia seetner to chilled yerba mate...it tastes so good and very smooth. I love it. Thank you for providing such an enjoyable and healthy tea.
I love this tea. I have been drinking for over 5 years. I drink it every morning. My day is not the same if I don't drink it. I love, love, love it!! That is why I order the 5 lb. bag; I don't ever want to be without it.
Thank you Guayaki
Hello, It's hard to believe it's been several years now that I have been drinking the Organic Guayaki Yerba Mate. I drink it hot or cold with nothing added. I transfer from my steeping pitcher to jelly jars that I keep just for the tea I make ahead to take along to my work. By late morning and mid afternoons I enjoy that boost to increase energy and get the job done quicker. I have acid reflux disease and this tea does not seem to bother it. Also, I have hypothyroid disease so the drink helps me not to be so tired and makes me less hungry. I have noticed too that I no long nee the vitamin suppliment Inositol either because my hair stopped falling out as much when brushing and shampooing. It works for me...you should try it you may just be hooked like me...keep the baking soda handy for scrubbing your teeth though and don't forget to swish with water after each sip of tea because your teeth will turn dark. :(

You guys should really design & sell tea canisters to hold the 1 pound, 2 pounds & 5 pounds tea bags. And the Free Gear dept should be designing more stuff like ravel mugs! I have enough tee shirts.
