GUAYAKI BUSINESS MODEL EXPLAINED
Guayakí’s MARKET-DRIVEN-RESTORATION business model directly links our customer’s purchases to our partner farming communities in the South American Atlantic Rainforests. Guayakí’s partners sustainably harvest organic yerba mate from rainforest grown cultivations and reforestation projects, generating a renewable income stream which enables these communities to improve their lives and restore their lands. The uplifting and nourishing choice of health-minded individuals, yerba mate boasts 24 vitamins and minerals, 15 amino acids and abundant antioxidants. Yerba mate is also known for its adaptogen-like qualities, which include reducing the effects of occasional stress.
Of the six commonly used stimulants in the world, yerba mate, coffee, tea, kola nut, cocoa and guarana, yerba mate, with naturally occurring caffeine, triumphs as the most balanced, delivering both energy and nutrition.
We have videos of how to prepare mate!
To watch the videos - click the icons below.
Place yerba mate in the French press. Add hot water and steep for 3-10 minutes. We recommend using 1-2 tbsp of loose mate per cup. First, moisten the mate with cool water to protect the nutrients and flavor, then ADD HOT (NOT BOILING) WATER.
Place yerba mate in filter basket, then brew. We recommend using 1-2 tbsp of loose mate per cup. First, moisten the mate with cool water to protect the nutrients and flavor, then run the machine as usual.
Yerba mate brews well in most espresso makers. Place 1-2 tbsp of loose mate in a double espresso portafilter. Pull a long shot for a total of 4 oz. Great for making mate lattés.
Mate Latte Recipe:
Brew an 8 oz. cup of Guayakí Yerba Mate. Add sweetener (sugar, honey, or maple syrup) to taste and 4 oz. of steamed milk of choice. Top off with milk foam. Makes a 12 oz. latté.
Yerba mate is traditionally prepared in a gourd and shared among a circle of friends. Welcome the moments of community born of your own mate circle.
Love the Traditional & have for close to 20 yrs. This time however I got the Biodynamic. I love it also. They are different yet each deserves a 5 star from me.

I use Guayaki Original Mate in a beverage that I make for farmers markets and every body loves it! Shipping was great, product is great, definitely ordering again
I first started drinking Guayaki in 1997 when it first hit Bend, Oregon at a natural food store. I must say that the flavor was a bit rough to get use to. I stopped for a while and then tried it again and I can say now, muy bueno. I picked up my gourd and bombilla and am enjoying it. I have also tried the San Mateo variety and find it a good alternative.
Notes from the PNW hinterlands...
I've been drinking your mate, and preferring it to all other brands, for close to 15 years now. You provide great service, a very user friendly website, good pricing on bulk orders, and I especially like the free shipping over $50 and the periodic sales you offer!
As an organic vegetable and seed farmer, Guayaki gives me the energy and mental clarity I need to make it through the long days. When it is time to play, your mate picks me up and gives me extra energy.
Keep up the excellent work!
Organic food and seeds
For over 10 years, we have ordered bulk yerba mate from Guayaki. Despite trying other brands, we find Guayaki to be the best! We also appreciate your sustainable practices and honor that with our continued business.
We love you and your mate so much we could just hug and kiss you to death. Gez Loueeze.
I drink this version of mate predominantly because it has a great flavor and mixes well with honey and almond milk. I only wish the Ache's Pride came in 5 lb. bags too!
Love this product. My family drinks it every day..
As always, love my Guayaki!
Great. I do recommend it to everyone I know!!!
