Place yerba mate in the French press. Add hot water and steep for 3-10 minutes. We recommend using 1-2 tbsp of loose mate per cup. First, moisten the mate with cool water to protect the nutrients and flavor, then ADD HOT (NOT BOILING) WATER.
Place yerba mate in filter basket, then brew. We recommend using 1-2 tbsp of loose mate per cup. First, moisten the mate with cool water to protect the nutrients and flavor, then run the machine as usual.

Yerba mate is traditionally prepared in a gourd and shared among a circle of friends. Welcome the moments of community born of your own mate circle.
My daughter introduced me to Yerba Mate about 6 years ago. I find the product to be very helpful on those days when I need a bit of an energy boost without having the "racing thoughts" that go with caffiene. Yerba Mate enables me to get the energy boost I need and still be able to keep a clear head and be in control. I just ordered a #5 bag and plan on using this product more and more. I'm actually hoping to eventually replace my coffee with the Yerba Mate.

Hi there--I have been drinking Yerba Mate for the last three years, and I always buy your brand! I used to get a box of tea bags at my local grocery store, but then last year I purchased a 1 pound bag online. I love it!
I was disappointed with the 5 pound bag, however. The minute I opened it--it just didn't smell the same as the 1 pound bag of loose leaf. When I tried a cup it tasted a little stale. However, I figured since I already opened it and tried some that I wouldn't be able to send it back for a smaller size. Would that still be a possibility? Thanks!
I have tried every Yerba Mate I can get my hands on, over the last 15 years of my love for Yerba Mate. My favorite has been Guayaki since I discovered it about 10 years ago. I like the flavor profile more than any other I've found. I also love what the company is doing for the land and indigenous people in South America! I now order the 5lb bag of loose smoked mate, because it is a great price break and Guayaki ships it so quickly I hardly have to wait!

With a 5-pounder in my pantry, I'll be stocked with my favorite beverage for days!
Yes, I love Traditional Yerba Mate because it has less caffeine as compare to coffee. And it doe'nt make me nervous/groggy, (whatever you call it). After brewing the loose mate in a heat-resistant tea kettle, I scoop it up and use a cone coffee filter*** to sqeeze it manually to get the most juice out of it. And it tastes very good.
*** Please use - IF YOU CARE - coffee filter available at Whole Foods to avoid epichlorophydrin that some manufacturer use to make coffee filter stronger to resist tearing. (I'm not in any way have a financial interest with - IF YOU CARE -
We have been drinking Yerba Mate for years and discovered we can get a better price for it by purchasing it online from Guayaki. The ordering process was very fast and easy.
I was very pleased with the promptness of my order being both filled and shipped.
When it's not too hot to touch, I'm squissing the Guayaki after brewing to get the most juice out and to use less out of it.
I have been drinking this for 16 years and love it. It is my medicine!
Great service, great product! Thank you for all the work you do also to sustain our planet and her people!
