It tastes like "green"....

By: lynnann of Sugar Camp, WI

I've just brewed (in the french press) my first Mate....and sipped it from my gourd with the bombilla. As I type, the first flavors are working their way through my sinuses and pallet. This tea tastes like "green" to me. All the energy and vibrations of what green looks like to me...Now... a sweetness on the sides and back of my tongue....lovely. I love chai...and resisted adding it until I drank the true nature of mate...now I would hesitate to mask it's wonderful earthy flavor with any other...thank you for this experience...love and peace...lynnann

The Real Deal

By: Russ of Colorado

Mate has become somewhat trendy now days, and there are a bunch of really bad products on the market. I started drinking Mate several years ago when I was in Chile, and this is the real deal. This is what a vaquero would be drinking in the morking with bread.

The Best Stuff

By: Steven of Forestville CA

I use loose mate every day in my french press. I add agave nectar and almond milk for a mate latte. Delicious. Sometimes I put a lot of loose mate in the press and get really lit.

Mate mixed with Vanilla Nut makes a fine iced tea.

By: Mary of Sierra Madre/CA

I combine this with Vanilla Nut and brew the tea in a french press. I add cold water first to help the flavor and add hot water, wait and enjoy. I drink this all day long.

Saved my mornings!

By: Elizabeth of Buffalo, Wyoming

I just love the Traditional Mate! Some time ago, my doctor removed coffee from my diet and I didn't know how I was going to get a "boost" to get me going in the mornings. Yerba mate has been my lifesaver. It's smooth and tasty and gives me great energy without the jitters and acid associated with coffee. I'm a life long supporter now!

Best Mate Since 1992

By: Brian Schlaak of San Francisco CA

This has been my finest taste oriented mate experience since my post-Peace Corps return to the states in 1992. The fact that it is organic erases any concerns that I may have harbored about pesticides during my 4+ years in Paraguay and Argentina. Delicious and easy to order online, a potent combination indeed.

Better than Coffee!

By: Summer of California

My husband has altogether stop drinking coffee and now only drinks Yerba Mate! It is better tasking and soothing on the stomach. We found Traditional Mate to be the best out of all the flavors of Mates. Also, loose mate is much much much better than teabag mate. There is no comparison between the two. Loose vs. teabag actually tastes like two completely different teas. We found teabag form not so good tasting. Buy loose only and use a tea ball to seep tea.

Very good.

By: Jim of Vista, CA

This is my first experience with Yerba Mate tea. I use the Traditional cause that's how I roll. I like natural. It appears to be very good quality and if brewed according to what I learned on this site, it is full bodied and tastes like it should be doing you some good. In other words, it is a acquired taste, but I enjoy the nutty flavor. I pre-soak the tea for a minute or two in a french press, then brew it with 150 degree filtered water for 10 minutes.
