Place yerba mate in the French press. Add hot water and steep for 3-10 minutes. We recommend using 1-2 tbsp of loose mate per cup. First, moisten the mate with cool water to protect the nutrients and flavor, then ADD HOT (NOT BOILING) WATER.

Yerba mate is traditionally prepared in a gourd and shared among a circle of friends. Welcome the moments of community born of your own mate circle.
I'm a longtime drinker of mate, starting with a gourd but normally using a tea press. I've primarily enjoyed the original blend but also tried several others and the San Mateo is my favorite. It's a little brighter like an earthy green tea. I prefer to let it steep only a very short time, a minute or less, so it's not too strong and I can enjoy several cups.

This is the cleanest tasting yerba mate that I have ever consumed. I drink it on a daily basis and order up to 20 1bs. twice a year. My favorite way to drink it is a 50/50 blend of the Traditional & San Mateo blends. I temper it with cold water in my french press the night before and brew the next morning with boiling water for 10-15 minutes, depending on how strong you like it. Cheers on a very solid product, I have turned many of my friends on to the benefits of daily usage of yerba mate in their life for positivity and focus.
What can I say - there's nothing like the San Mateo - it's the smoothest & the gives the greatest energy "lift" ever!
This is the main product I rely on -- it's my favorite brand, I store this large amount and replenish from it as needed. Favorite because it's smoke-free and simply pure mate, the source, the real thing. For my own personal use.
