San Mateo Air Dried Mate - [5 lb.]

my husband David purchased San Mateo Yerba Mate a while back, to 'keep' me happy. I grew up with Mate in Austria (Europe), where my mother purchased it through 'dark channels' via our local pharmacy (way back in time) - people thought it was a 'witch brew' because Mate has so many health benefits. I am so happy we found your company and I love your philosophy! Thank you for caring so much.

I've loved the traditional mate blend for many years and this is a great alternative if you want a break from that, a little more crisp and bright like green tea but still full-bodied with that warm earthy flavor like the traditional blend. It's my personal favorite.

The San Mateo Air Dried Mate is the smoothest Mate I've ever tried. It's worth stocking up on. I love to mix in a little chamomile to get a nice peaceful pick-me-up.

Having gone through a 5lb. bag of Traditional Guayaki Yerba Mate, and now half way through the San Mateo. I would like to say that this kind of mate is very pure, and tastes very earthy. Unlike some other brands of mate this does not have a smoky flavor. I prefer the San Mateo to the Traditional because to me the taste is very smooth and enjoyable. Now, which one provides the most energy I would have to say they are about the same, with a slight lean towards the San Mateo. Overall a high quality, pure earthy mate. I Highly recommend you try this. Cheers!

I have been ordering your bulk bags of mate since I started drinking it over 10 years ago. I have it most every morning and have shared it with many friends. It is the best!

When stopping at a local bait shop I decided I wanted a juice drink. I picked one that said it would provide an energy boost. I read the ingredient list and saw Yerba Mate listed. I didn't know what that was so I googled it and found out and found your company. It sounded so good from all the reviews that I decided to order some. I purchased the 5 pound bag of San Mateo based on the descriptions and reviews. It came in just 5 days. I eagerly tried it. It must be an acquired taste. I don't really like most teas and it is kind of like a tea. I am trying ways to make it quickly and easily. I put some in a tea ball and steeped it for a while. I put some through a coffee press too. I didn't feel euphoric or seriously energized but I will keep at it. I did find several friends who would like some as a gift.

I have been "hooked" on this particular organic air-dried Guayaki Yerba Mate for years--and am healthy and energized as a result. I started with the traditional (in a french press) but like the milder San Mateo best and consume massive amounts of this stuff. BTW, I never drink any other brand of yerba mate--they are not the same. Guayaki is a wonderful company--great products, great service.
